Setup Vultr Connection

1. Creating an Object Storage Server on Vultr

Before connecting Vultr to Stacking Cloud, you need to create an Object Storage server.

How to Create an Object Storage Server

  1. Log in to Vultr: Go to Vultr and sign in to your account.
  2. Navigate to Object Storage:
    • Click on Products in the side menu.
    • Select Object Storage.
  3. If you haven’t yet a storage, create a New Storage Instance:
    • Click on Deploy New Storage.
    • Choose the preferred location (e.g., New Jersey).
    • Confirm and complete the setup.

2. Retrieving API Credentials from Vultr

After setting up Object Storage, retrieve the credentials needed to connect Vultr to Stacking Cloud.

How to Get the Credentials

  1. Go to Object Storage Management: Locate your newly created Object Storage server. 
    Click on Manage Object Storage
  2. Find the Credentials:
    • Hostname: ewr1.vultrobjects.com
    • Access Key: Copy the key provided.
    • Secret Key: Copy the secret key.

3. Creating the Connection on Stacking Cloud

Now, we can configure the connection in Stacking Cloud.

Steps to Follow:

  1. Log in to Stacking Cloud at this link.
  2. Click “Add Connection”.
  3. Select Vultr from the available providers.
  4. Enter the required information:
    • Connection Name: Choose a custom name (e.g., “Deploy on Vultr”).
    • Hostname: Enter ewr1.vultrobjects.com.
    • Connection Key: Paste the Access Key copied from Vultr.
    • Connection Secret Key: Paste the Secret Key copied from Vultr.
  5. Save the settings by clicking “Save Connection Settings”.

4. Verifying the Connection and Publish site on Vultr bucket

Once saved, you can test your connection and publish your site to a Vultr bucket by clicking the cog icon in the Stacking Cloud – My Cloud Website section.
